About the Job
The Capacity Planning Engineer will support the strategic planning and execution of network capacity initiatives. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement capacity planning strategies, optimize network performance, and contribute to the advancement of 5G and open RAN technologies.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, or Wireless Systems Engineering.
Skills Requirements
- 5-8 years of experience in end-to-end network planning and operational activities.
- Knowledge of radio access technologies, wireless spectrum, and network architectures.
- Good knowledge in RAN, Core, IP Network, and cloud computing implementation.
- Understanding of network benchmarking approaches and automation techniques.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Strong communication skills and problem-solving abilities.
Experience Requirements
- 5-7 years of experience in OSS Systems, Data analytics/Business intelligence (PowerBI, Tableau), AWS Redshift, AWS Athena, AWS Quicksight, Python, 5G NR, Open RAN, Virtual RAN, Cloud RAN, AWS Cloud
Role & Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and implementing capacity planning strategies across different network domains, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and priorities.
- Support the development of an end-to-end capacity planning model to analyze traffic flow, forecasts, capacity limits, and potential breakpoints within the network architecture.
- Contribute to the design and execution of capacity planning activities, aiming to optimize performance and meet growing demand.
- Assist in the development and execution of 5G open RAN capacity planning strategies, considering regional variations and market demands.
- Support the design and development of algorithms and software tools tailored for capacity planning activities, enhancing decision-making processes within the team.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define RAN capacity thresholds and ensure optimal network resource utilization and reliability.
- Assist in conducting lab testing and assessments to simulate congestion scenarios and their impact on network performance.
- Support the implementation of advanced models for traffic forecasting using data analytics tools and techniques.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and vendors to facilitate spectrum planning and network growth initiatives.
