About the Job
We are seeking a detail-oriented Software QA Analyst / Test Engineer with experience in manual and API testing of web, cloud-based, and microservices applications. The ideal candidate should be skilled in functional, regression, integration, backend, and UI testing, with strong hands-on expertise in API validation using Postman and ReadyAPI. Experience working within Agile environments, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and supporting cloud-based testing (AWS) is essential for this role.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
Key Responsibilities
API & Backend Testing
• Perform API testing using Postman, ReadyAPI, APIGEE, and Swagger.
• Validate AWS Lambda functions, Step Functions, and API Gateway proxies.
• Conduct backend testing, data validations, and response verification.
Manual & Functional Testing
• Execute functional, regression, integration, smoke, sanity, and end-to-end testing for web applications.
• Review and analyse requirements to create detailed test scenarios and test cases.
• Ensure full coverage across UI, business logic, and backend workflows.
Test Documentation & Reporting
• Prepare and maintain test strategy, test plan, test cases, and execution reports.
• Log, track, and report defects using Jira, Octane, and ALM.
• Provide root-cause information and collaborate with development teams for timely fixes.
Agile & CI/CD Support
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Support continuous testing activities during CI/CD pipelines.
• Conduct sanity and smoke testing post-deployment in cloud environments.
Cloud & Microservices Testing
• Perform validations for microservices integrated with AWS components (Lambda, S3, Step Functions, CloudWatch).
• Ensure end-to-end testing coverage for distributed cloud applications.
Collaboration & Quality Ownership
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including developers, product owners, and business analysts.
• Improve test efficiency by identifying gaps and minimizing redundant test efforts.
• Support UAT activities and assist in system-level validations.
Skills & Competencies
• Strong hands-on experience in Manual Testing & API Testing (REST/SOAP).
• Proficiency with Postman, ReadyAPI (SoapUI), APIGEE, Swagger, JIRA, Octane, and Confluence.
• Strong understanding of functional, regression, integration, UI, backend, smoke, and sanity testing.
• Ability to analyse requirements and prepare detailed test scenarios and documentation.
• Working knowledge of AWS cloud services (Lambda, Step Functions, S3, CloudWatch).
• Basic understanding of CI/CD processes and Agile methodology.
• Strong defect reporting and tracking skills.
Good-to-Have Skills
• SQL query knowledge for backend validation.
• Exposure to microservices-based architecture testing.
• Experience coordinating with global onshore–offshore teams.
• Ability to prepare test data and drive test coverage improvements.
